Here, There, and Everywhere Challenge by Enthusiastic Fish

Here There and Everywhere Challenge
This is not another Paul McCartney challenge, although if you want to write a song-fic that would be perfectly fine. I’ve been on another smash and grab raid in the challenge bunny adoption thread and kidnapped one of Pam’s ideas...The Area I Know...
The challenge this time is to write a story in which the location is all important, and it must be somewhere you are familiar with, either as a resident or a visitor. Obviously I won’t know the places I hope you’ll be writing about, but this is where an important element of the challenge comes in. I want part of your story to actually describe where the events are taking place...as I said, you don’t have to travel far for your location, but if you want to head further afield, that’s fine too! To hopefully get the creative juices flowing I’ve posted a few pictures of places I’ve been, lots of the locations have been used in my stories already, and I hope occasionally people have managed to get a flavour of the place from the writing, naturally some have been more successful than others, but each of them has been fun to write,
and I hope you can get some fun from writing about familiar places too
...I’ve put the pictures under a spoiler bar in order to speed up page loading.
Remember you don’t have to take our characters too far from home, one of the pictures is taken in my local park, less than 200 yards from my front door, however, I do need to be able to ‘see’ your chosen location so description is going to be a vital component of the story. Thanks to the kind permission of the challenge staff, I am able to offer two prizes for this challenge, one for best overall story, and one for best use of description...told you it was important!
You can write any kind of story you like, just remember the location has to have a starring role...ideas....one of the team could visit a childhood or college haunt, and you can make their childhood home anywhere you like, as long as you have lived/visited there...same goes for a case file, a romance, a dangerous liaison...the field is wide open.
Characters At least one major character from our usual list of suspects, and the location!
Rating Any, just label appropriately.
Pairings Not required, but any pairing is acceptable.
Word count Minimum 2,000 words. I’m setting the minimum a little higher than usual to give some leeway for the descriptive passages, no maximum.
Genre Whatever floats your boat, flies your plane, or gets your train on the rails!
Seasons Any, but please label for spoilers.
Feel free to use this story in another challenge as long as the other challenge issuer agrees, and multiple entries are welcome if you want to send your characters to more than one location, just remember the prize karma guidelines.
The closing date is Labor Day (September 3, 2012), traditionally the end of summer I believe, and before the SeSa assignments are issued!
